PETALING JAYA: A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) team has won the coveted Piala Seri Endon 2010.
Calling themselves Jun Design, the team of UiTM lecturers Junaidi Awang and Rahman Rosman, and their students Syahmiza Razali and Siti Farah Ani Yusof received RM30,000 and a challenge trophy in the batik design competition.
The cash prize was sponsored by The Star while Royal Selangor supplied the trophy.

This is Junaidi’s fourth attempt.
There was more good news for him. He and his wife, RTM image designer Asmida Che Aripin, won the soft furnishing category. They received RM30,000.
The competition, organised by Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia since 2003, aims to discover and encourage Malaysia’s batik-making talent.
Penyayang chairman Nori Abdullah launched the event, which is named after the late Tun Endon Mahmood, wife of former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
